Meet the Goats!

Smokey

Smokey.png

Smokey is my first Nigerian Dwarf and the boss of my little herd.  Smokey was the “runt” weighing just over a pound at birth.  He was bottle raised because of his size and his momma had two other kids to nurse.

I brought Smokey and another little guy home at five days old.  He is a special goat.  He loves people, isn’t afraid of anything, and thinks he’s just another dog.  He’s a gentle leader but make no mistake he is the leader.  Please don’t tell him he’s not very big.  You’ll hurt his feelings.

New to the herd are Bummer and D.J.  Remember Donkey from Shrek?  He talks too much, doesn’t listen, sticks his nose where it doesn’t belong, but has a big heart, hence, D.J…Donkey Junior!

Bummer, well he is a lover.  He’s gentle, quiet, and always happy to be held, just make sure you hold him so he can lay his head on your shoulder.

Noel

Noel is a special young lady.  She was born three days after Christmas so a very special eight year old boy told me I had to name her Noel.  Her coat is cashmere and she couldn’t be softer if she was a cotton ball. She’s a quiet sole and prefers to just be brushed and sit next to you.  No wild adventures for this girl, just love and pets.

It all started in June 2022 when I brought home two tiny, three-day-old Nigerian Dwarf goats. These little bottle babies needed extra care because their mamas had multiple births and couldn’t feed them all. From the moment I held them, I was in love!

Smokey, the tiniest of the bunch at just about a pound, quickly became my sidekick. Since their feeding schedule was nonstop, these little ones went everywhere with me—road trips, church, work… even quick stops at the gas station. Picture me bottle-feeding a baby goat at the pump while my car filled up! It wasn’t long before I realized that wherever these goats went, they brought huge smiles, endless laughter, and a whole lot of joy.

At work, word would spread fast whenever I had the goats outside. In minutes, people would come running to cuddle, feed, and snap selfies with them. Even a local judge couldn’t resist holding Smokey—though I did warn her about the potential for an unexpected surprise. Her response? “It’s worth it!”

While I love my professional career as a County Commissioner (which is usually serious and high-impact), my goats opened my eyes to something magical—how much happiness and stress relief they bring just by being their adorable, playful selves. That’s when Snow Peak Goat Adventures was born!

Now, I get to share this joy with you—whether it’s a birthday bash, a bachelorette party, a corporate event, or even a relaxing goat yoga session. Nigerian Dwarfs are my favorite breed because of their friendly personalities, perfect size, and yes, their famously rich milk. But most of all, they’re experts in spreading happiness!

So if you're looking to add a unique, unforgettable experience to your next event—full of laughter, cuddles, and maybe even a little playful mischief—Snow Peak Goat Adventures is ready to bring the fun straight to you!
